Sterling Distillers Pvt. Ltd. is an upcoming 150 KLPD Dedicated Ethanol plant coming up at Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, India.
It has signed a long term offtake agreement with the Oil Marketing Companies for supply of Ethanol. Investment of INR 200 Crores is envisaged in the first phase. The project is the part of Ethanol Blend- ed Petrol Programme(EBP) which is an initiative by the Government of India (Gol) under the National Policy on Biofuels. It was launched in the year 2003.

Sterling Group committed to revolutionizing the way you think about renewable fuel production. The Government of India and the Oil Marketing Companies are aggressively promoting blending 10 % of ethanol in Motor Sprit with a view to reduce the carbon footprint and conserve foreign exchange by reducing import of crude oil. For the Ethanol Supply Year (ESY) 2019-20, ethanol supplies of 172.42crore litres could be effected by suppliers to Public Sector OMCs as against the requirement of 511 crore litres enabling average 5% ethanol blending in Motor Sprit.
